As I reflect over the last year and a half, since moving to Albany and starting at ACC, I can't help but think wow hasn't time just flown by? Additionally, I feel so fortunate to be able to live here and work at ACC. I am truly grateful for the privilege it is to work at ACC. The school community here is such a beautiful thing to be a part of and my hope is that too has been and continues to be your experience.

A chaplain's role in any school takes shape to meet the needs of the school and the strengths of the chaplain. Its primary role is to support the wellbeing/pastoral team. How that looks varies from school to school and chaplain to chaplain.

This year my role has included overseeing a DE student leadership team of 19 students in years 6 - 12 whom I am very proud of for their commitment to serving the DE community. I have taken on the OC Yr 8 Boys Pastoral Care as their pastoral care teacher. I am proud of them too for being such a fun and social group that includes everyone in their activities. I also now oversee the Duke of Ed Award. An Award that is achievable for all students over the age of 14 and one that I would like to encourage everyone to take on.

My role continues to include 1 on 1 chaplain appointments for various reasons. This year I have been on an adventurous journey with students in Year 11 & 12. The Year 8 camp in Katanning. I drove the bus and went with our yr 10's on an excursion to Foodbank. I also hosted our DE quiz night with Langford Brown and continue to oversee our Chess Club, DE Minecraft Club and ACC Connect (DE).

This year it has also been a blessing to have Suzi Jansz join us 2 days a week also as a Chaplain.

If you ever have any questions about Chaplaincy Support or one of the areas that I oversee, for example, Duke of Ed and Chess Club, please don't hesitate to contact me.
