Although our students are all over WA, we are delighted to hear about their interests, sports and hobbies. So when Chanelle and Oskar Chum told us they won their respective divisions at the WAISA Autumn Cup, We couldn't be prouder of them!
On the 2nd of May at Cockburn Ice Arena the WAISA (Western Australian Ice Skating Association) held their first competition of the year.
Oskar came first in the Elementary Men Division and Chanelle Chum also blitzed the field in the Elementary Ladies Division, scoring 29.71! 4.4 points higher than the second place holder!
As part of our school's motto "Well known, Well loved, Well Taught" we asked Oskar a few questions below:

When did you start? 3.5 years ago
What got you into ice skating?
When I first saw the Winter Olympics I was amazed by how figure skaters danced so gracefully on ice and decided I would learn too.
What is your favourite manoeuvre?
Mine is Triple Jump Combinations and my sister's is Biellmann spin and jumps.
Where is the best place you have competed?
Cockburn Ice Arena.
Where would you like to compete?
International Ice Rinks.
Is there a big community of ice skaters in Perth?
Yes.
Do you plan to do this for a career?
I wouldn't as I want to be a doctor but my sister (Chanelle) would. Well Done Oskar! We are so encouraged by your success and your aspirations!
