Kate's Hockey Hurrah

Over the holidays Kate Appelboom represented her club, Whitfords, in the Indoor Hockey Club Championships held at Mundaring Arena. Their Under 13 mixed team competed against 11 other teams from various clubs in WA. They were split into 3 pools and after the results of those games they were placed in Division 1. The competition was tough, but the team pulled through and entered the Grand Final. The Grand Final was extremely tight and went to a thrilling penalty shoot-out where Whitfords clinched the Gold Medal Title.

In the July holidays, Kate also represented Whitfords in the Outdoor Hockey Club Championships held at Perth Hockey Stadium. This time she was part of the Year 7/8 Girls Team. They also made it through to the Grand Final in Division 1 and it also ended with a penalty shoot out and Whitfords won.

What stood out most was the beautiful attitude of the team members in both events and how they worked together to achieve success.
