Monday Munch on Mark

For the longest time it has been the vision of the Distance Education team to host an online Bible study for students who want to delve deeper into God's word. Recently at church, we were challenged to read the Gospel of Mark with someone and these two opportunities just fit like a glove. THUS- the 'Monday Munch on Mark' Bible study was born.

At beginning of this week, myself and Mr Sokolowski were joined by several Year 10 - 12 students on teleconference to open the word. Although no Bible knowledge was required, It was interesting to note most of the students were already very familiar with the Bible, so I presented them with a challenge-

Forget everything you already know! This was to help them read the gospel afresh and rediscover who Jesus is and what he came to do.

I was really encouraged by the answers the students gave and even when they were quiet, it was because their heads were down, reading the passage looking for the answers in the text instead of relying on old knowledge!

I am excited to see where else this Bible study will go, but for now I am praising God for the students that come and read the word with me.
