Pedal Prix

The Pedal Prix is back at ACC for 2023, bigger and better than ever before! With a new enclosed trike trailer, a new area for indoor training and two new trikes, the ACC racing team is looking forward to a year of personal challenge with excitement.


Pedal Prix events are recumbent trike races in which competitors attempt to outdo other teams by completing the most number of laps in a given amount of time. Most races are 6 hours in length, with one event in Murray Bridge being 24 hours in duration. At ACC we compete in teams, with multiple riders sharing a trike. Our athletes typically ride for 20 minutes before returning to the pit lane where rider changeovers can take place, strategy can be discussed and mechanical repairs can be made. During each race, teams can expect to navigate the trike over more than 150 km.


This season we have expanded our involvement, registering two teams for events in Perth and Busselton.

The Perth event is a 6 hour race that will occur on the 7th of May. This race occurs on a 955m track at the Driver Risk Management facility, located at Perth Airport. This event is the first in a set of three races that make up the Epiroc WA Pedal Prix Series. In future years we hope to also compete in the second race held in Bunbury.

The Busselton event is the third and final event in the Epiroc WA Pedal Prix Series. This race also doubles as the 5th race in the Australian Human Powered Vehicle Super Series. As such, our students will be competing against interstate competitors, including other school and community teams challenging for the title of national champion within their category. The event is scheduled for August 20th with the track centrally located on the picturesque Busselton foreshore.
