Welcome to Term Two.  Term One seems to have flown past and we’re looking forward to a solid ten week term of learning. Although there are two public holidays this term, teachers will not be making adjustments to weekly planners due to week eleven being available for catch-up, if required, while staff are attending our school conference. As always, we suggest you plan ahead to ensure you are able to complete all work and assessments within the required time, especially if you have appointments or special events organised during the term.

It was lovely to meet with families at our Whiteman Park excursion at the end of last term.  Despite it being a very hot day, students joined in all the activities and were full of energy and enthusiasm. This year we included some team building and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities in our last session.  Mr Brown has asked for your feedback about the excursion so if you have any suggestions, feedback or ideas you’d like to see next time, please add them to Takamuna, or feel free to let teachers know.

Congratulations to our students who participated in the recent Australian Maths Trust Competition (Kangourou sans Frontières) for students in Years 3 and above.  Thank you to Mr Brown who supervised the event and enabled it to be held at a central location.  We hope you are pleased with your results and commend you for taking part in this challenge which has more than six million participants worldwide.
