It was so much fun to meet up with families at the sports carnival last term. I think all of us were a little worn out by the heat but it was a really enjoyable day, characterised by great sportsmanship and a ‘have a go’ attitude. Students worked together in their multi-age teams to gain faction points and picked up the games very quickly. Thanks to the P & F, we were granted funds to purchase our own equipment which meant we were able to keep the activities flowing and organised. Many thanks also to the staff who travelled up and assisted in the organisation and implementation of the day.

Just a note to supervisors and students to remind you that this is a reporting term and therefore extensions for assessment may not be possible in order for teachers to collate marks and report effectively. Please make sure that you check your Canvas calendar before each week commences in order to plan your time well.

Last term we showcased some of the amazing poems the year six students had submitted. This cleverly crafted poem by Jennifer Rayner really captured our imaginations and we hope you enjoy it too.

The Joy of Buggy

When I cuddle buggy,

He feels like my snuggy.

He’s a bouncing, beautiful bunny,

He makes me feel very sunny.

His fur is incredibly fluffy,

His cheeks feel so puffy.

I can’t resist how soft he is,

I give him a big kiss.

Buggy, big cheeks, little tongue, silly face,

I wish I could stay in this place.

Grey fur, long ears

So much joy, brings me to tears.

Buggy loves banana to eat,

He squashes it under his big feet.

I can taste the fur in my mouth,

I could travel anywhere north, west, east or south.

The sound of Bugg’s soft gentle breathing.

We get him toys for teething.

The sound of the munching,

When he is crunching.

I love the feeling.

He is so appealing.

I seriously love the sensation,

I can’t handle the temptation.

We truly live in a remarkable country that is unique in so many ways. Our Year Three and Four students have been looking at different geographical locations around Australia - can you guess from their descriptions where these are?
