The following is an excellent poem written by Hannah Crute for her English assessment.

Dear Hope,

You saved my busted life;

From the lustrous gaze of dark,

Where the sun was not in sight.

When walls shrieked in my face;

They tore down my poise and grace.

Shattering everything in its way,

I knew I could not stay.

When I was breaking;

Falling apart,

You swooped down and saved me,

Just like a dart.

Giving in to the repulsive strife,

My bones soon crumbled and died.

But then out of the impossible,

You brought the biggest miracle!

Pounding through my pumping heart;

My lungs, given a brand new start.

What once contained just a single drop of oxygen,

Is now, never to be empty;

Forever plenty.

Dear Hope,

I will always sing your praises,

Til' death do us part.
